Veeco Instruments (Woodbury, NY) released the Wyko NT9100 Optical Profiling System. According to the company, this tabletop model delivers the performance and many of the capabilities of its full-sized optical profiling systems for applications research, industrial, quality control, and failure analysis. The first Wyko NT9100 was installed at Ascent Solar Technologies for use in emerging photovoltaic metrology applications. Other potential applications include optics, aerospace, automotive, and biomedical devices.
The NT9100 features sub-nanometer vertical resolution and hands-free measurement automation for focus, tilt, magnification, intensity, and scan length. It incorporates a fully programmable 150mm x,y stage and ultra-uniform illumination.
Running on the Vision software platform, the NT9100 provides access to more than 200 distinct analyses and 1,000 critical parameters for process control and monitoring. The NT9100 also supports user-written analyses and integrates with user-supplied hardware for custom research and emerging technologies.
