Steve MacDonald, co-founder and former president and CEO of CD-adapco, has been elected to the Long Island Technology Hall of Fame for his contributions to the region’s technology community. The announcement comes right before the company’s annual STAR Global Conference in Prague.
MacDonald joins the three-person inductee class of 2016, which also includes Dr. Bruce Stillman and Dr. Clint Rubin.
According to the company, MacDonald’s innovative spirit and determination drove the commercial success of the business. Under his leadership, CD-adapco has grown from three engineers in a Long Island attic to 40 offices around the world with 950 employees. CD-adapco software is currently used by over 3,200 companies worldwide, including 14 of the 15 largest carmakers, by all of the top 10 suppliers to the aerospace industry and by 9 of the 10 largest manufacturers in the energy and marine sectors.
