Solidoodle Introduces 3D Printer With Large Build Area

Solidoodle  has released the Solidoodle 3 3D printer. With printable dimensions of  8 in. by 8 in. by 8 in. (more than twice the volume of the Solidoodle 2), users will be able to print large objects with up to .1 mm in layer resolution. The new printer is available for pre-order and will begin shipping in January 2013.

“I’m absolutely ecstatic about the success we’ve seen this year,” said Solidoodle CEO Sam Cervantes. “By offering the Solidoodle 3, we will be able to help satisfy a need for an even larger-format 3D printer while keeping with our focus on affordability and usability.”

Within its initial year of operations, Solidoodle has grown to over 60 employees and has delivered more than 1,200 printers, the company says.
