Solid Concepts to Show the Larger Side of 3D Printing at Pacific Design and Manufacturing 2014

3D printing service provider Solid Concepts will showcase its full product solutions line at the Pacific Design & Manufacturing tradeshow in February.

Some items in the showcase include aerospace production manufacturing and materials, medical cast urethane production offerings, according to a company press release. The idea behind this showcase is that it will give Solid Concepts a chance to exhibit non-traditional 3D printing applications.

“There is a tendency to think small when it comes to the capabilities of 3D printing,” says Scott McGowan, vice president of marketing. “It’s good to step back and look at how long the industry has been here. Look at the larger scale, the larger format, of many of these 3D printing industrial systems. Creators, inventors, and makers can start looking beyond small desktop 3D printers and consider what is achievable on the industrial scale with service providers that have decades of experience.”

Among some of Solid Concepts’ custom manufactured products include the world’s first 3D printed metal gun, medical and environmental applications and a fuel tank and ailerons used by NASA for low-cost commercial flight and aircraft research.
