SIMSOLID has introduced data integration with Dassault Systèmes’ SOLIDWORKS. This add-in provides two methods for data integration, the company states.
The first option is a shared memory approach. According to the company, users can simply press the “Start SIMSOLID: button located on the add-in menu panel to launch SIMSOLID from within SOLIDWORKS and pass the active design model through the shared memory pipe.
Another option is import data through a lightweight SIMSOLID formatted file. Both methods integrate the full hierarchical assembly structure. All part names and subassembly references are maintained.
“We are excited to add SOLIDWORKS integration to our product” says SIMSOLID CEO Ken Welch. “Being able to directly access and analyze fully featured SOLIDWORKS geometry without meshing opens simulation to a whole new group of users and applications.”
