Siemens Recognized for Supporting Diversity through STEM Education

This is the 12th consecutive year Siemens is ranked for supporting Historically Black College and Universities' engineering programs.

Career Communications Group has acknowledged Siemens as a “Top Supporter” of Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU) for the 12th consecutive year. Siemens supports diverse STEM education by providing in-kind grants of software to HBCU Engineering schools through its product lifecycle management (PLM) business.

The list of “Top Supporters of HBCUs” is founded on a survey by 14 deans of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology accredited HBCU engineering programs. Organizations are ranked by support level via infrastructure modernization and enhancement, research and mentorship projects, advisory council participation, faculty development and student opportunities as well as scholarships.

Siemens’ total contribution for in-kind software grants totals more that $1.2 billion, the company states.

“We are dedicated to helping develop the next generation of highly trained and highly qualified engineers and technologists through diversity initiatives and STEM educational programs,” said Chuck Grindstaff, president and CEO, Siemens PLM Software. “Siemens remains committed to its partnerships with the HBCU academic community and other academic institutions, which support programs that encourage students to pursue careers that will revitalize manufacturing in the U.S. and around the world.”
