Rescale’s on-demand cloud now offers Siemens’ NX Nastran software for finite element analysis (FEA). Engineers can perform customizable virtual simulations for individual requirements, allowing for large scale virtual simulations.
With the Rescale platform, NX Nastran users can run hundreds of simulations simultaneously, leveraging pay-per-use operating expense models, a company press release states. Not only does this allow for new customers to access NX Nastran, but it also ensures existing customers can maintain some in-house analysis capability for ongoing activities.
Integrated into a high-performance computing infrastructure, Rescale’s simulation platform offers multiple workflow options. Designers can run one job at a time, multiple jobs in parallel and perform Designs of Experiment (DoE) simulations. DoE simulations allow for a larger understanding the effects of parameter variations on the robustness of designs, or an evaluation of a broader design solution space. This on-demand platform offers more affordable DoE simulations, according to the company, thanks to Rescale’s volume pricing model that gives higher discounts with increased simulation runs.
“NX Nastran in the cloud is a perfect solution for customers who want to avoid investing in in-house IT infrastructure for high-performance computing, or those who wish to augment their existing capabilities with additional capacity on demand,” said Jim Rusk, senior vice president, Product Engineering Software, Siemens PLM. “The Rescale platform helps enhance the value of NX Nastran by enabling users to efficiently perform large-scale simulations in the cloud — including volume priced Designs of Experiment simulations — via a robust, secure, online service.”
