Siemens Announces AI-Based Simcenter Tools

At Siemens Realize LIVE on May 26, Tony Hemmelgarn, president and CEO of Siemens Digital Industries Software, outlined the progress the company has made in shifting its product offerings to the cloud, as well as integrating its platform for improved collaboration. 

“The Siemens Xcelerator cloud platform is the core of Xcelerator. It allows our customers to build applications and modernize their apps, as well create personalized experiences, all delivered through the public or private cloud, or on premise,” he said.

Hemmelgarn also discussed improvements to Siemens Teamcenter X PLM, which he said provides a faster ROI because Siemens manages the solution for its customers. He described the benefits of the Siemens communities, including the Additive Manufacturing Network and the PartQuest Portal.

New AI-Driven Simcenter Capabilities

The week of the conference, Siemens announced the release of Simcenter Studio software, a web application for generative engineering. According to the company, the software allows users to find the best system architectures in a shorter time. 

“The expansion of generative methods toward system architectures will provide a clear competitive advantage for companies that design complex systems,” said Peter Bilello, President and CEO, CIMdata. “With the introduction of this new offering, Siemens has demonstrated leadership by bringing together AI and system simulation for the conceptual stages of system design.” 

According to Siemens, the tight integration of system simulation inside computational notebooks in Simcenter Studio is unique to the market and is complemented with an automatic generation of controllers to enable realistic trade-studies. This allows for the evaluation of the most important key performance indicators (KPIs) to be reliable and properly facilitated when making business and engineering decisions. 

Siemens also announced the Xcelerator Academy, a unified approach for training users, implementers and developers during their digital transformation initiatives.
