Rescale, provider of cloud high-performance computing technology for scientific and engineering simulation, has announced a strategic partnership with Siemens PLM Software. Siemens will enable its Simcenter portfolio of simulation products to run on the Rescale ScaleX cloud HPC platform.

This partnership will enable Simcenter customers to access the world’s largest HPC network on demand, and to capitalize on new hardware architectures as soon as they are released, according to a Rescale announcement.

Simcenter users on the ScaleX platform will be able to work entirely in the cloud if required for graphical user interface (GUI) centric processes and batch execution of multi-node solves. Rescale says this partnership will also expand on-demand licensing options, allowing Siemens Simcenter customers access to monthly GUI subscriptions and pay-per-use solver licenses.

“Leveraging cloud infrastructure and flexible licensing models allow customers to explore their digital twin like never before,” said Rescale CEO and co-founder Joris Poort in a press release. “Siemens’ cloud strategy is a key enabler for their customers to get faster time to results and to iterate more quickly on designs. Rescale is thrilled to partner with Siemens PLM Software on an initiative that brings increased innovation to customers and the broader engineering community.”

The first phase of this new partnership is now available for existing Siemens PLM customers. The first products available in this partnership include STAR-CCM+, Amesin, Simcenter 3D, Nastran Basic and Nastran Advanced. More products and usage options will roll out in the weeks ahead.

“The Rescale partnership helps Siemens PLM Software provide our customers with access to the most expansive and dynamic computing environment, helping customers get the most out of our advanced Simcenter simulation software solutions,” said Willy Bakkers, vice president of simulation at Siemens PLM Software, via a press release.
