Remcom has unveiled a new electrostatic solver for its XFdtd simulation platform. This solver enables use of the platform’s XFdtd Capacitance Matrix Simulation, which is necessary feature for designing electronics with touchscreen panels.
The solver is integrated with the platform’s user interface and uses existing CAD import and geometry creation capabilities. It can also detect dielectric materials in the static solution, allowing the software to analyze touchscreen electrodes fixed between multiple plastic layers. Other supported design functionalities include:
- Complex geometries that offer analysis within fully populated devices
- 3D voltage and electric field distributions
- Stylus analysis, including parametrization of position relative to nodes
- Compatibility with XFdtd’s Poseable hands and third-party biological files
The solver is available as an add-on module for XFdtd, or can be purchased as a standalone product.
