Reverse Modeling (Los Angeles, CA) is running a promotional offer which includes rapidformXO Redesign with rapidformXO Scan software from Rapidform, Inc. (Sunnyvale, CA) along with the FlexScan3D scanner from 3D3 Solutions.
The rapidformXOR-FlexScan3D bundle, which is available for $20,000, allows users to capture organic shapes or mechanical objects and then create parametric models directly from the scan data that can be transferred directly into various CAD/CAM programs for further processing or rapid prototyping.
FlexScan3D is a configurable system because it is a software-based scanner. FlexScan3D generates more than 450,000 points in a single scan and can reach accuracies of +/- 0.001. The use of high-end SLR cameras also means that users can generate rich textures.
The FlexScan3D scanner comes with a 6.0 megapixel Digital SLR Camera and standard video projector, but users can mix-and-match cameras and projectors to satisfy their specific requirements. There is more information at reversemodeling.com.
