Document3D from QuadriSpace(Allen, TX; document3d.com) lets you create interactive Adobe PortableDocument Format (PDF) files that include 3D objects without the needfor JavaScript programming or intermediate translations. This step in3D publishing means 3D information can be shared with everyone. TheDocument3D line of products lets downstream users easily leverageexisting 3D models and 2D drawings to create assembly instructions, technical publications, interactive training, and other productlifecycle documents.

This combination of Document3D and Adobe PDF means QuadriSpacecustomers can share and collaborate on 3D content with internal teamsas well as partners or customers. Customers will be able to view andinteract with 3D content exactly as intended using Acrobat 7.0 or thefree Adobe Reader 7.0.

“Documents with embedded 3D are easier to create, quicker to update andprovide better communication than today’s static documents,” said BrianRoberts, president of QuadriSpace. “In addition, Document3D makes fulluse of existing CAD designs and metadata to create powerful documentsfrom your product information in less time than ever before.”

With the 3D PDF Module, Document3D offers the ability to publish toAdobe PDF and maintain the interactive 3D elements. Adobe Reader 7.0natively supports 3D, so no additional software is needed to view andinteract with the 3D objects in the document. Now, everyone will beable to import 3D CAD files directly into documents; create complexexploded views and interactivity without writing a single line ofJavaScript; work with an integrated toolset that includes page designtools and 3D editing tools in a single solution; and capture and createdesign metadata, step-by-step instructions, bills-of-materials, andother product information in final 3D-enabled Adobe PDF documents
