QuadriSpace makes available Document3D Suite 2023 with features and updates inspired by customer feedback.
“QuadriSpace customers that started out creating assembly instructions or part catalogs are now improving efficiency and delivering better technical documents in other areas of their business,” states Brian Roberts, presiden.
The Document3D Suite includes Pages3D for technical documentation and Publisher3D for technical illustrations; both products are available separately as well. By repurposing existing 3D CAD files and associated data, customers can rapidly create technical documentation and illustrations. When 3D CAD designs change, users can update their printed, PDF or HTML deliverables.
The 2023 version introduces a modernized ribbon look and feel with lightning-fast mouse-over and ribbon selection response times.Existing users will still be familiar with the layout as little has changed with the user interface organization. The software also includes a new panel that displays document page thumbnails for quick page changes and document navigation.
Document authoring is upgraded in 2023 with the new ability to incorporate multiple master pages.
Part metadata is often imported from CAD tools and can be added in the Document3D products. Illustration metadata allows individual illustrations to have names, instructions, tools needed and other textual information describing the saved illustration. In 2023, the software now supports rich text metadata so textual information can be better communicated with font and color changes, bold or italics modifications and other textual decorations.
For working with illustrations, the 2023 version includes a new transition editor that allows users to create custom animations by editing the timing of key animation events such as camera movements and part animations. With 2023, parts can now be faded in when shown and faded out when hidden. Selected parts can also be customized to blink to draw viewers’ attention to them before animating them. A new leader line outlines option makes it easier to see callout and balloon lines in complex scenes.
For creating exploded views, a new curve axis is available that will help align part movements like rotating bolts to the center of holes in the 3D model.
