progeCAD 2007 Professional, powered by IntelliCAD, now edits and saves AutoCAD 2007 drawings. The software from progeSOFT (Portland, OR) can open, read, and allow edits to drawings created with all versions of AutoCAD. It also provides what the company calls an “AutoCAD-like” icon menu, as well as AutoLISP compatibility, VBA, and the same fonts, scripts, and command list.

In addition, designers will also be able to convert PDF to DWG and to print to the JPG graphic standard. A new express toolbar allows users to copy, trim to, and extend to a nested object; replace a block with another block; fit, explode, or rotate text; convert text to mtext; enclose text with an object; flatten objects; and attach xData.

In other news, progeSOFT also released progeCAD Viewer DWG. Along with support for AutoCAD drawings v2.5 through v2007, the DWG viewer enables designers to redline, mark up, and plot their AutoCAD Drawings. As with 2007 Professional, a full list of features can be found on the website.

Referring to both product releases, progeSOFT’s Damiano Croci said, “progeSOFT has opened the world to AutoCAD 2007 drawings while easing the migration to a lower-cost, AutoCAD-compatible, CAD software package.”

A full list of features for progeCAD 2007 Professional, a trial version, and more information on the viewer can be found at progesoft.com.
