ETA has announced the R2 version of its finite element modeling software, PreSys. Available immediately through ETA and its distribution network, this version interfaces with Moldex3D computer aided engineering (CAE) software used in the plastics injection molding industry. This allows a user to import and edit existing Moldex3D models to create Moldex3D shell models, then export the models for analysis.
By accessing Moldex3D through the PreSys interface, the model creation process can be automated and streamlined for greater efficiency. PreSys offers functions for creating Moldex3D models and editing the designs. The tools offered within PreSys include surface handling, automated part thickness mapping functions, as well as runner definition. The PreSys environment provides a gateway for users to access these models and use them as the basis for further structural, durability, NVH and impact analyses.
PreSys interfaces with CAD software products such as CATIA, Pro Engineer, SolidWorks and AutoCAD, while also offering CAD-based finite element meshing capabilities.
