Pegatron Establishes PCB Design Flow Via Cooperation with Zuken

The services company is planning to deploy the platform it developed in partnership with Zuken.

Pegatron, a major Taiwanese design and manufacturing services company, has built a new design environment centered on CR-8000 Design Force. The environment is based on a technical partnership with Zuken.

Pegatron adopted CR-8000 in 2012 and then was able to integrate advanced automated design functions into the platform. The company believes that its additions to the application exhibits performance far superior to that of other PCB (printed circuit board) design systems, and plans to accelerate deployment efforts.

The company is currently offering contracted design and manufacturing services through utilization of CR-8000 and CR-5000 data. Zuken will continue to operate as a technical partner by contributing to the expansion of Pegatron’s operations.

“Previous CAD architecture had already become dated and we were encountering limitations in our ability to respond to new circuit board technologies, and in keeping up with the latest software technologies,” said Steven Huang, senior director, R&D Center, EA, SIM & CAE division at Pegatron. “We have nothing but high praise for the Zuken development team, who produced results through active efforts under Pegatron proprietary technical requirements, and the outstanding flexibility of CR-8000, which has enabled us to pursue expanded functionality on our own. We are confident that utilizing this data and transferring design data will help us to expand our company’s business.”
