NVIDIA Launches DRIVE Automotive Computers

NVIDIA has launched automotive computers that offer computer vision, deep learning and advanced cockpit visualization. Titled NVIDIA Drive, the company introduced the technology at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The company, according to a press release, will offer two car computers: DRIVE PX for developing auto-pilot capabilities and the DRIVE CX for digital cockpit systems.

The DRIVE PX platform is equipped with the NVIDIA Tegra X1 mobile super chip, which is created with Maxwell GPU (graphics processing unit) architecture and delivers over 1 Teraflop of processing powers. Its vision capabilities can leverage Auto-Valet, enabling the car to self park without human intervention.

DRIVE CX is a complete solution for hardware and software that offers advanced graphics and computer vision for navigation, infotainment, digital instrument clusters and driver monitoring. It also has Surround-Vision, which provides a 360º view of the car in real time, eliminating blind spots.
