nScrypt has become an authorized reseller of the Rhino 3D CAD software for use with its nStudio software engine for its Factory in a Tool 3D Manufacturing systems.
Rhino freeform modeling tools can create, edit, analyze, document, render, animate and translate Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines (NURBS) curves, surfaces and solids, subdivision geometry (SubD), point clouds and polygon meshes. The Rhino team says there are no limits on complexity, degree or size beyond those of your hardware and that Rhino can model any shape you can imagine.
When wrapping a circuit structure onto a complex curved surface, it distorts. Rhino 3D CAD allows nScrypt system users to map a circuit design onto a complex surface accurately and without distortion, so that the system can then 3D manufacture an accurate printed circuit structure. As an add-on to nStudio and nScrypt’s nArwhal plugin, which outputs to an nScrypt Freeform File (NFF), Rhino 3D CAD allows nScrypt’s six-Axis and Trunnion Factory in a Tool users to map complex circuit designs for printing on freeform surfaces.
nScrypt is licensed to sell Rhino CAD software with any of its systems anywhere in the world. Tech support is provided by Rhino.
“Our nStudio software package is very powerful and robust, enabling our Factory in a Tool users to render circuits onto complex printed circuit structures,” says nScrypt’s CEO, Dr. Ken Church. “Before integrating Rhino 3D CAD, we were 'wrapping' scanned data onto the substrate, which can result in some distortion. By integrating Rhino 3D CAD, our users can take conformal printed electronics to the next level, accurately.”
