New TracePro Release Compatible with SolidWorks Add-On, 1 in a Series

Lambda Research Corporation(Littleton, MA), a developer of optical software,has released TracePro 3.3.6, an update of its illumination designsoftware. The release coincides with Lambda Research’s latest productoffering, TracePro Bridge for SolidWorks.

TracePro 3.3.6 is the first TracePro version compatible with TraceProBridge for SolidWorks, the add-in to SolidWorks 2006. It is required toopen and understand native TracePro files created from withinSolidWorks. TracePro’s 3.3.6 3D kernel has been updated to ACIS R14service pack 9 to ensure the compatibility between SolidWorks 2006,TracePro Bridge for SolidWorks, and TracePro 3.3.6.

TracePro Bridge for SolidWorks customers can apply TracePro propertiesto their SolidWorks parts and assemblies and save this data directly tothe .sldprt and .sldasm files (the native SolidWorks files) or asTracePro files. These models can then be directly opened in TracePro3.3.6 for ray trace and analysis.

The company points out improvements in TracePro 3.3.6 include enhancements to TracePro RepTileproperties, updated documentation for macro commands, and added macrocommands including DXF exporting and RGB color analysis.
