Neurotechnology, a provider of robotics and high-precision object recognition and biometric identification technologies, has launched the SentiBotics Development Kit. This kit is ideal for researchers, academic institutions, robotics developers and hobbyists who are looking for a “ready-to-go” mobile robotic platform, the company states. The robot is able to be equipped with a 3D vision system and has ROS-based software.
The kit includes the following hardware:
- A tracked platform capable of carrying a payload up to 10kg
- Modular robotic arm
- Two 3D cameras that allow the robot to recognize objects
- An Intel NUC i5 computer with 8GB RAM, 64GB SSD (solid state drive)
- A 20 AH lithium battery
“We designed SentiBotics to be a compact, integral and computationally capable robotics system that allows our customers to rapidly test their ideas in real world environments,” said Povilas Daniusis, leader, Robotics Team at Neurotechnology. “With the included software, SentiBotics not only provides working examples of autonomous navigation, object recognition and grasping algorithms, it also allows users to immediately concentrate on their own algorithm development.”
