MSC Software and e-Xstream engineering have released the newest version of Digimat 5.1.1, a nonlinear multi-scale material and structure modeling platform.
The new release adds capabilities that help engineers, material suppliers and users reduce cost and time to create materials and products, the company states. This includes woven composites, material engineering and chopped fiber composites.
Digimat-FE includes FE (finite element) meshing technology and solver for end-to-end investigation of composites’ RVE (representative volume element). Updates have been made for speed and robustness, post-processing is now integrated and MSC’s Marc software is available for the external solver interfaces supported by Digimat.
Version 5.1.1 has woven model support screening, on-demand nonlinear materials for TEPEX and draping information from PAM-FORM. Strong coupling is also supported.
For analysis of chopped fiber composites, Digimat-RP has been developed to support shell modules in addition to currently available 3D models. Digimat-RP integrates material modeling tools into a single interface and workflow for effective and efficient analysis of reinforced plastic parts.
