Mentor Graphics Announces PADS PCB Creation Platform

Mentor Graphics has introduced a new product creation platform based on PADS PCB (printed circuit board) software. The goal is to help engineers develop PCB-based systems from concept through manufacturing, the company states.

This platform adds HyperLynx DC Drop for voltage drop analysis and FloTHERM XT for electronics cooling. These features help users:

• Identify layout areas with excessive current density
• Analyze voltage drops caused by insufficient copper across power supply rails
• Interface with major MCAD vendors and vendor-neutral file formats
• Access a CAD-centric solution for thermal simulation and electronic cooling
