Mentor Graphics has released the Mentor Automotive Safety Certifiable Digital Instrument cluster solution. This lets driver information be displayed simultaneously with rich 3D graphics on a single instrument cluster display.
The system architecture is implemented on a single- or multi-core System on Cheap (SoC) with a fast boot time. It also lets car makers reduce the number of certified code lines since it is built on pre-certified components, the company states. It is compatible with Nucleus RTOS and Linux solutions, streamlining information display.
The solution is ISO 26262 certified and has low-overhead isolation features to increase efficiency. With this isolation, the cluster produces 3D graphics with features such as infotainment, ADAS and smartphone connectivity.
“Embedded software safety is one of the top requirements for vehicle systems designers, and our ability to merge safety-critical information from vehicle systems without compromising rich cluster graphics or functionality has been very well received by our customers,” says Rainer Oder, general manager, Mentor Automotive.
