MecSoft Corporation, developer of CAM software solutions, has partnered with RoboDK Inc., maker of RoboDK, a robotic simulation software for robot machining and robot offline programming. This partnership enables users of MecSoft’s CAM products the ability to use robots for milling. There are 2-½-axis to 5-axis toolpaths that are generated inside of MecSoft’s CAM products can be transferred to RoboDK to create robot specific control code.

“MecSoft’s CAM users can now program industrial robots for robot machining using RoboDK in just a few clicks,” says Albert Nubiola, president & CEO of RoboDK.

Adds Joe Anand, President & CEO of MecSoft Corporation: “RoboDK is a great addition to MecSoft’s product portfolio which enables us to adapt our milling solutions for robotic milling applications. This partnership is one more step in our constant efforts to meet our stated goal of providing powerful and affordable CAM software solutions to the manufacturing industry.”

RoboDK software supports an extensive library of robots, with over 500 robot arms and more than 50 different robot controllers.

RoboDK ’s partnership with MecSoft allows the conversion of 2-½-axis to 5-axis milling toolpaths generated by MecSoft’s CAM products into robot control programs. RoboDK’s intuitive user interface and extensive support for various robots, coupled with the power, functionality, and ease of use of MecSoft’s milling products make this an outstanding product combination for milling using robots.
