Matrox Brings PCI Express, Quad-Display Graphics to the Party

Matrox Graphics Inc. (Garden Grove, CA), provider of graphicssolutions, has announced the Matrox QID LP PCIe, a x16 PCI Expressgraphics card that handles four displays at a time. The card has asingle Matrox-designed graphics chip to control displays and to supportx16 PCI Express natively, supports digital and analog monitors, and hasa low-profile design that allows it to fit in a wider variety ofsystems.

The Matrox QID LP PCIe includes 128 MB of graphics memory and supportsresolutions up to 1600 x 1200 per display. Matrox products also havefeatures it says are essential for mission-critical environments,including hardware with high MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure), MatroxFanAlert software for added system security, long product runs, andsupport for Microsoft
Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Display drivers for the Linux and Sun
Solaris x86 operating systems will be available as upgrades.
