LightWave 3D Group and Sketchfab Create Online 3D Model Publisher

LightWave 3D Group, has entered a collaboration with Sketchfab Inc., to deliver a plug-in for LightWave software version 11.5 or higher that can export models to Sketchfab.

LightWave offers end-to-end production for artists and designers who wish to model, animate, render and retarget models for 3D applications.

Once exported to Sketchfab, models can be published, shared, embedded and viewed as 3D interactive models in real time. Users can also add metadata, share models via web browsers and be embedded like a YouTube video.

“Our goal at Sketchfab is to be the easiest way for 3D creators to publish their work online,” said Alban Denoyel, CEO, Sketchfab. “One way to better achieve this is to integrate closely with the tools they use. We are happy to add LightWave to our list of exporters, making the workflow from the software to the web as seamless as possible.”

The plugin for Sketchfab is supported by Windows and Mac operating systems. The download is available here.
