Laser Design Inc. (Minneapolis, MN) has selected the line of FaroArm portable CMMs from FARO Technologies (Lake Mary, FL) to integrate with its new SLP line of 3D laser scanning probes.
The integrated 3D laser scanning systems, known as the Laser Design FA-Series, will be sold through the company’s distributor network and will also be used internally by its scanning and inspection services division, GKS Inspection Services.
Laser Design’s Surveyor Laser Probes (SLP) are integrated with Platinum FaroArms as well as the Titanium model. The FaroArm’s reach range of four to 12 feet allows users to transport the portable scanner right to the part for companies that prefer keeping parts in house for confidentiality purposes as well as those whose parts are too large or too difficult to move.
Laser Design’s SLP-330, SLP-450, and SLP-2000 laser probes offer varying laser lengths to facilitate scanning of small to large parts with the supported FaroArms. Laser Design also sells a retrofit kit that allows existing FARO customers to mount the laser probe that fits their measurement requirements.
