Kubotek USA (Marlborough, MA), developer of KeyCreator, announced the company has entered a new alliance, joining the SolidWorks(Concord, MA) Solution Partner program. The partnership supports thecompany’s focus on providing solutions that ease CAD interoperability, allowing designers and engineers to easily share product data andmodels.
“The reuse of data and model components from existing CAD files is awidely accepted practice but unfortunately, our recent InteroperabilitySurvey (view summary) showed that only six percent of engineers receivefiles in their preferred format,” said Bill DeAngelis, sales managerfor the Americas for Kubotek. “KeyCreator software’s flexibility andease-of-use make it the perfect companion to SolidWorks software.”
“SolidWorks customers work in multi-CAD design and manufacturingenvironments,” said Brian Houle, manager of the SolidWorks SolutionPartner Program. “KeyCreator provides the tools to easily import andmodify design data from virtually anywhere and quickly bring thesedesigns directly into SolidWorks software.”
KeyCreator’s geometric architecture is optimized to work with variousCAD models, integrating them into a single CAD environment. It readsfiles from other leading CAD tools available on the market and providesthe geometric editing capabilities designers need to repair and modifythose models for more efficient use in a SolidWorks design environment.
KeyCreator is designed to work on imported models as if they werenative files. Users do not need to maintain several CAD products toreuse legacy data, saving time and money. The software’s direct editingcapabilities allow engineers and designers to easily edit features onimported models, manipulating the actual geometrynot the modelconstruction stepsand dynamically discover features and edit them.
