Knovel, a provider of a Web-based application integrating technical information with analytical and search tools, has expanded its partner ecosystem with the addition of four publishers in the first quarter of 2011. Knovel partners with more than 75 societies and publishers worldwide to ensure engineers have access to sources of technical content across 25 engineering subject areas. Last year, Knovel added 10 partners and expanded its content offering nearly 20%.
Recently added partners include:
- United States Pharmacopeia (USP), a non-governmental, public standards-setting authority for prescription and over-the-counter medicines and other healthcare products manufactured or sold in the United States.
- Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), an international economic organization founded in 1961 to stimulate economic progress and world trade.
- International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM), established in 2001 to act as a catalyst for performance improvement in the mining and metals industry.
- The Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME), an international society of professionals in the minerals industry with more than 12,000 members in nearly 100 countries.
“Knovel continues to build and expand partnerships that strengthen our content in a way that is impactful to the engineering workflow,” says Delores Meglio, vice president, publisher relations for Knovel. “This curation process involves more than adding the latest titles. We also bring together hard to find data, improve discoverability of actionable answers in the database, identify new sources of information and retire out-of-date content.”
