KISTERS 3DViewStation Offers Visualization for Teamcenter Engineering and ActiveWorkspace

KISTERS' 3DViewStation has been integrated with Siemens Teamcenter Engineering and ActiveWorkspace to provide a fast, advanced yet user-friendly CAD visualization tool with rich functionality, company says. KISTERS 3DViewStation supports the latest NX and JT releases, and also many other CAD file formats such as Catia, Creo, Inventor, Solidworks, SolidEdge, STEP and more.

“KISTERS 3DViewStation is a product family that gives customers the choice to use a desktop, web-based or a VR product. All of which are comparable in terms of functionalities and APIs, as they all share the same graphics kernel, developed by (and unique to) KISTERS. Our priorities were always: fast performance, ease-of-use, high level APIs for easy integration and latest file format support. Over the last ten years we have added numerous functions and features based on customer feedback. There are now 180+ functions, with 150+ settings,” says Jim Eardly, KISTERS North America sales manager. 

“We ensure current file format support, customizable UIs, availability of all necessary functionality and the support of current technologies like web or VR,” Eardly adds. “We develop new or modified functionalities in close communication with our customers, ensuring the best user experience.” 

Siemens Teamcenter and ActiveWorkspace customers can enjoy short load times and extremely fast visualization performance, even on very complex CAD models consisting of millions of parts. Seamless integrations show 3DViewStation embedded into the UI of the ActiveWorkspace or Teamcenter client or running with its own, full or customized UI. This allows use of all, or a designated amount of the 180+ functions, according to Kisters. 

Some of the functions include: measurements, graphical comparisons, full digital mockup including clash, clearance, wall thickness analysis and also review processes leveraging a discussion thread.

3DViewStation Desktop or WebViewer users can also start a KISTERS VR-Edition session instantly from their PLM system, record any issues via voice recognition, automatically add preview images and comments to a PLM work item and forward this to the next user. Then the user is able to use our 3DViewStation WebViewer or Desktop version for review and finally turn to their CAD system to resolve the found issue, the company notes.

3DViewStation ships with current and mature importers for a broad range of 3D and 2D formats, including Catia, NX, Creo, SolidWorks, SolidEdge, Inventor, Revit, JT, 3D-PDF, STEP, DWG, DXF, DWF, MS Office and more. 

KISTERS 3DViewStation is available as Desktop, VR-Edition and HTML5 WebViewer product-versions plus the online collaboration tool VisShare. All product flavors are intended to be used together with a PLM, ERP or other management system product configuration or service and spare part applications, providing all necessary APIs. For cloud, portal and web-solutions, there is an HTML5-based WebViewer solution available, which does not require client installation. All file formats can be used in combination with the intelligent navigation and hyperlinking features.
