ShapeDo, an Israeli start-up in the 3D design space, has launched ShapeDo.com, an online repository of 3D objects. According to the company, ShapeDo focuses on community driven design projects. When users upload a 3D object in STL and SCAD formats to the site, all users can download the object to their own account and create derivative work.
The site’s 3D viewer option displays objects visually in the browser. An object network map lets users track changes to an object. ShapeDo also features open gallery of 3D shapes and a built-in social network. The site is free to use, but also includes a private shapes area for paid use.
