Identify3D, a company immersed in secure and standardized communication for digital manufacturing and 3D printing, has signed an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partnership with Siemens Digital Industries Software, enabling an integrated solution of the Identify3D suite with NX software, the Teamcenter portfolio and Siemens Opcenter software. Both companies can help customers support automated, end-to-end, secure and controllable manufacturing data distribution, collection and monitoring across multiple control systems and production equipment.
“Setting up and running an additive manufacturing factory should be as straightforward as connecting and using paper printers in the office. As soon as you plug a new printer into your network, your organization should be able to schedule and track jobs, securely send and collect data, and monitor performance,” says Aaron Frankel, VP Additive Manufacturing Program, Siemens Digital Industries Software. “Together with Identify3D and our growing ecosystem of AM hardware OEMs, Siemens is helping enable our customers to securely connect, control, coordinate and monitor their entire global 3D printing and postprocessing operation.”
From NX, Teamcenter or Siemens Opcenter, customers can create encrypted data instructions for the operation of additive or subtractive machines. These “containers” of instructions include machine parameters, machine type, operator privileges, number of parts allowed and more. Every action that affects a container for a given manufacturing operation can be collected, tracked and displayed in a dashboard for full visibility of the production process. Identify3D and Siemens have been working with leading 3D printer OEMs to develop integrated machine interfaces that fully support secure data transfer.
“Following a multiyear partnership with Siemens, we are very happy to make one further step towards a broader commercialization of our solution. We are very keen on bringing a key innovative addition to the Siemens Digital Industries Software portfolio and excited to support their global sales organization,” says Fabrizio De Pasquale, VP Business Development and Strategic Accounts at Identify3D. “Through a standardized data model and end-to-end integration, Siemens customers can lower operating costs by interacting more efficiently with machines. In addition, with secure data and enforceable process policies, they can realize more automated and regulated production both for in-house operations as well as for distributed scenarios.”
