HP Z1 Workstation Built for CAD Professionals

HP has released an all-in-one workstation that leverages NVIDIA Quadro high-performance graphics capabilities.

Built for computer-aided design, digital media and entertainment professionals, the workstation provides fast rendering and performance. It offers a full range of workstation-class graphics cards and processors, and has been tested and certified to work with leading industry applications, according to the company.

The HP Z1 Workstation snaps open, so users can easily swap out parts and make upgrades without tools. It features Intel Xeon processors, and support for more than 1 billion colors.

The HP Z1 is utilizes a new custom line of NVIDIA Quadro GPUs. Developed through a multi-year collaboration between HP and NVIDIA, the GPUs utilize less power, generate less heat and require less cooling. Designed especially for all-in-one workstations, the NVIDIA Quadro 500M, Quadro 1000M, Quadro 3000M, and Quadro 4000M GPUs offer professionals a full range of whisper-quiet, upgradeable graphics options.

The Quadro All-in-One GPUs provide high visual quality and performance,  with up to 2GB of fast GDDR5 memory2, enabling more interactivity on larger data sets. Dynamic tessellation allows greater detailed geometry for cinematic quality environments and scenes.

Users can choose from a variety of storage types, including 7.2K and 10K SATA, SSD, optional RAID configurations, removable drives (AMO), a multiformat media card reader and optical drives including a slot-load Blu-ray Writer. The 27-inch white LED display supports more than 1 billion colors and features a wide, 178-degree viewing angle and an in-plane switching (IPS) panel.

The unit also includes HP Remote Graphics Software, and HP Performance Advisor.
