The latest version of GstarCAD (2012) computer aided design software is not yet available. However, according to the company, the new version will provide power users with greater efficiency through the addition of a number of new design-oriented functions, including a dynamic block function that adds flexibility and intelligence to symbols.
The new block editor environment in GstarCAD 2012 is said to let users design and edit regular blocks (symbols) and to program dynamic blocks that interact with drawings in new ways. The company says users will be able to attach parameters, visibility states, and actions to blocks. Once dynamic blocks are added to drawings, users will be able to interactively change the shape, size, and position of the blocks, according to the company.
Users will be able to enter the block editor with the new Bedit command. Dozens of commands, system variables, parameters, parameter sets, and actions will be available for customizing the actions of blocks.
Parts of dynamic blocks can be made to move, stretch, rotate, lookup, and scale. After dynamic blocks are inserted into the drawings, users will be able to change their shapes and sizes easily by clicking and dragging blocks.
Dynamic blocks created in GstarCAD2012 are compatible with those created in AutoCAD, according to the company.
