Machine tool programming developer Gibbs and Associates (Moorpark, CA) has announced a new interoperability capability that allows GibbsCAM to directly accept data from the Rhinoceros surface modeling application from Robert McNeel and Associates (Seattle, WA). GibbsCAM’s support for Rhino is available as a freely distributed Rhino plug-in.
The GibbsCAM for Rhino plug-in allows Rhino 4.0 models to be sent directly to GibbsCAM from within a Rhino design session. Alternately, GibbsCAM can open Rhino 3DM files directly. However you get you transfer the Rhino model into GibbsCAM, once it is in there you can create CNC programs to machine the model.
