Gibbs and Associates, developers of GibbsCAM, has formed a partnership with Sandvik Coromant to integrate the Adveon Tool library application into its CNC (computer numerically controlled) machining programming platform. The library is ISO 13399 compliant and supports CAD, CAM, CAE and PLM (product lifecycle management) tool management systems.
GibbsCAM with Adveon integration will be available with the GibbsCAM 2015 release. It will initially support milling tools, and will eventually incorporated turning tools.
Adveon allows GibbsCAM users to develop their own tool library, work with tools from any supplier and create tool assemblies. The representations are in 2D and 3D, and can be used for Integrated Cut Part Rendering and Machine Simulation.
“We applaud Sandvik’s leadership and initiative in implementing ISO 13399 with Adveon, and look forward to our partnership in delivering a great time-saving solution to manufacturers everywhere,” said Robb Weinstein, senior vice president of Sales and Strategic Planning, Gibbs and Associates. “Adveon is a perfect fit with GibbsCAM, which has the inherent ability to associate specific tools with machining processes and the parts and part features the tools cut, to facilitate fast CNC programming and even faster engineering changes.”
The software will be exhibited at the International Manufacturing Technology Show in September.
