Geomate released TurboCalc 7.0, the company’s application for sketching, calculations, and goal-driven optimization. The new release includes a programmable geometrical calculator that enables users to define calculation macros with bi-directional links to geometry and dimensions in worksheets.
According to the company, this feature is valuable for working with longer calculation chains and for creating enterprise-wide validated reusable calculation libraries. TurboCalc 7.0 also includes a Mirror/Copy/Rotate tool that enables users to define constrained arrays of geometry. The geometry constraint manager has been enhanced to resolve multiple circularities in design intents in real time.
The software can be used standalone, as well as in conjunction with Microsoft Office and all popular CAD application on any computer running Vista or Windows.
“Engineering companies are faced with an ever-increasing demand for more complex products, quicker delivery, and greater levels of functionality of each product they design,” said Shyamal Roy, founder of Geomate. “These pressures raise the stakes of getting the design right the first time. With TurboCalc 7.0, costly build-test-fix cycles can be dramatically minimized leading to faster time to market with higher-quality products.”
