Fujitsu, an information and communication technology (ICT) company, has started a new initiative to implement a next-generation manufacturing environment that includes high level robot and machine interaction. With this system, all forms of manufacturing data are connected.
The company has already been developing robotic systems with autonomous control to adapt and respond to variations in components and generate control programs. This technology, according to the company, can also monitor manufacturing facilities using the Internet of Things (IoT) technology and predict predict product quality on a variety of factors.
The goals of this new initiative are to provide ICT, automation and networking in manufacturing. Some of the components of it include:
- Offering manufacturing solutions that incorporate Fijitsu’s internal know-how;
- Allying closely with robot manufacturers to support factory deployments;
- Establishing a new office to support the creation of a next-generation manufacturing environment.
