Intelligent Light’s FieldView 13 provides faster CFD post-processing, data management, and visualization. With the version 13.1 release, the company has added a new direct reader for OpenFOAM data.
FieldView can recognize a series of XDB files, each containing a single timestep, as a transient sequence. This cuts the time to sweep a transient XDB series by a factor of four to seven times. The solution exploits new developments in high performance computing, maximizing available memory resources, resulting in faster Point probing, dataset sampling, streamline and streakline calculation, and automated streamline seeding. In a case containing 100M cells for an XDB dataset sampling operation run on a system with 32GB RAM, over 300,000 probes per second were achieved at full optimization, delivering a nearly 200X speedup factor.
FieldViews new direct reader for OpenFOAM open-source solver data can read either reconstructed or decomposed (partitioned) data with no need to repartition or export the data. Other standard FieldView features, like streamline wall marking and optimization for accurate interpolation of standard cell types, are included. Full support for automation for batch operation with OpenFOAM results is provided.
