ESI Group has announced the latest release of VA One, the company’s solution for simulating noise and vibration across the full frequency range, which combines Finite Elements, Boundary Elements, and Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) in a single model. The new release includes significant performance and productivity improvements, along with new functionality for full spectrum modeling of acoustic ducts.
The SEA and Hybrid modules have been optimized to make increased use of the multi-threading capabilities of multi-core desktop machines. According to the company, speed increases of up to 4.5x have been observed for processing simulations on certain models running on quad-core desktop machines, when compared with previous versions of the software.
The new release includes a large number of productivity enhancements, including new methods for quickly editing and updating the attributes of multiple objects in a model. This reduces model-building time and provides more time for solving noise and vibration problems.
VA One also includes functionality for quickly modeling the transmission loss of complex ducts with arbitrary cross-section, both above and below the plane-wave cut-on frequency.
