Dell Updates Precision M3800 Workstation

Dell has unveiled updates to the Dell Precision M3800 workstation, enabling video editors, graphic designers, engineers and high-end users to create like never before, the company states. New features include a 4K Ultra HD touch display option, Thunderbolt 2 technology and more.

The new 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) resolution and ICZ02 technology has more than 8 million pixels on a 15.6 in. display and enables users to experience a 59% higher resolution, Dell states. It also offers 10-finger multi-touch capabilities.

Added Thunderbolt technology from Intel offers transfer speeds up of up 20Gbps. This feature makes it possible to edit raw 4K video.

Dell has updated display, storage and operating system options for the Precision M3800.

Dell has expanded its storage options for the Precision M3800 so users can equip their systems with up to 2TB of SSD (solid-state drive) storage. For processing power, the system has 4th generation Intel i7 core processors, NVIDIA Quadro K1100M graphics and up to 16GB of memory.

The Precision M3800 runs  64-bit Windows 7 and 8.1 operating systems, as well as Ubuntu Linux. It is ISV (independent software vendor) certified for professional software applications. The company is also offering a Dell XPS 13 developer edition of the system.
