Dell has expanded its portfolio and added new mainstream and performance tower and rack workstations. These systems are designed to address critical requirements in compute-intensive fields such as engineering and manufacturing, the company states. Among the product lines are the Dell Precision Tower 5810, Tower 7810, Tower 7910 and Rack 7910.
The Tower 5810 and Tower 7810 offer features with a compact footprint, and the expandable Tower 7910 delivers scalability. The systems’ chassis design includes quick release hard drives, a tool-less externally accessible power supply and lockable front bezel for additional security.
The Precision Rack 7910 comes in a 2U rack for factor, with support for workstation virtualization with Citrix XenServer and VMWare ESX hypervisors. It is also the first Precision workstation to include an Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller.
The new workstations feature Intel Xeon processors with the latest AMD FirePro and NVIDIA Quadro professional grade graphics technology. Also available is improved I/O performance and data availability with up to 1TB of DDR4 memory. The Tower workstations are equipped with Thunderbolt 2 technology, supporting data transfer speeds up to 20GB/s and simultaneous 4K video file transfer.
All systems are outfitted with Dell’s performance enhancing software tool, the Dell Precision Optimizer v2.0. This platform provides automatic dynamic performance tuning of the workstation according to the applications. Users will have access to an updated GUI (graphical user interface) as well as performance profiles for Autodesk 3ds Max and Inventor, Adobe Creative Cloud, Dassault Systemes, PTC Creo and Siemens NX.
The new line of workstations will be available in September.
