Dassault Systemes, Ubisoft Pledge to Help Rebuild the Notre-Dame

Moved by the sight of the fire-ravaged Notre-Dame, Dassault Systemes CEO Bernard Charles offers up technology from his company for the reconstruction of the 800-year-old Gothic cathedral.

Game publisher Ubisoft also pledged €500K to help. Ubisoft's game Assassin's Creed Unity features a detailed model of the Notre-Dame in its game environment. The model may now become a reference in the reconstruction.

Another detailed point-cloud model is the work of the late Professor Andrew Tallon from Vassar College. Specializing in medieval architecture, Tallon scanned many ancient structures, including the Notre-Dame.
