BEASY (Billerica, MA and Southampton, UK) has released a new version of its corrosion modeling software that incorporates new features designed to facilitate the modeling of offshore and undersea systems used in the oil and gas industry.
The software predicts the level of protection provided by Cathodic Protection (CP) systems and the life of the system under different operating conditions. It has the ability to model the electrical connection and internal resistances typically found in the modern deep-water developments. According to Robert Adey, Ph.D., managing director of BEASY, “This new technology
has provided us the ability to predict the interaction affects between CP systems and to quantify the affect they have on anode life.”
The new release also introduces a new user interface for model development and visualization called BEASY GID. For more information, visit beasy.com.
