Ceetron, a provider of 3D visualization and image processing software, has stated it will expand support for virtual reality (VR) applications through Oculus Rift and SDKs (software development kits).
Next month, Ceetron will be launching an Oculus Rift 3D Viewer for CAE models. Using this 3D Viewer, users can immerse themselves into their favorite CAE models and inspect simulation results from a whole new perspective, Ceetron states. The viewer will be available for both CFD (computational fluid dynamics) and FEA (finite element analysis) models.
The company plans to include support for Oculus Rift, including rotational and positional tracking. It also expects to include support for other popular consumer and professional devices over the upcoming 16 months, a press release states.
“I think that VR is really going to change the way we visualize and post-process CAE models, especially CFD and FEA models of complex structures, and I and my colleagues in Ceetron are enthusiastic about contributing to this change,” said Fredrik Viken, CTO at Ceetron.
