CCE, an interoperability technology and engineering services provider, has released the newest version of its Unified Interop (UIOp) libraries. This resource is a set of CAD independent interoperability libraries for Parasolid based CAx Systems that provide read access to stored information in 3D CAD files. It is created on top of CCE’s ODX libraries, and can convert native CAD files to Parasolid.
The newest release has been updated to support the layer attribute for geometry and datum entries, entity identifier and instance names. Translation reports now have added reference entity details like co-ordinate systems, directions, datum planes and points in the summary.
For specific programs, the CATIA V5 translator now reads V5-6R2014 part and assembly files, persistent identifies for bodies, face and entity publication names. The SolidWorks translator supports persistent identifiers for bodies and faces.
UIOp supports the latest versions of CATIA V4, V5, V6, Creo, NX, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, JT, Inventor and more. The libraries are compatible for Windows 7 and 8 as well as Linux platforms.
“With the increasing use of Parasolid as geometry kernel in CAD/CAM/CAE systems it is important for ISV’s to have a fast and direct solution to translate MultiCAD data to Parasolid format,” said Vinay Wagle, CCE’s V.P. of Sales and Marketing. “CCE’s UIOp libraries enable ISV’s to implement MultiCAD translators in their Parasolid based software in the fastest time possible using a single API.”
