Nemetschek North America (Columbia, MD; nemetschek.net) has partnered with MecSoft Corp. (Irvine, CA; mecsoft.com) enabling VectorWorks users to prototype and manufacture parts using VisualMill CAM software. VisualMill, provides 2.5-axis, advanced 3-axis, 4th axis continuous, and 5th axis indexed milling, as well as hole manufacturing solutions. The partnership enables VectorWorks users to export models into VisualMill to generate the CNC cutter paths from the model. For more information, click here.

Calerga (Lausanne, Switzerland; calerga.com) has announced the release of Sysquake 3 LE, a free version of the company’s Sysquake 3 simulation and scientific visualization software. Through the use of interactive graphics, Sysquake can help you reveal insights into your complex scientific problems. Based on a Matlab-compatible programming language, Sysquake is open to all areas of mathematics, physics, and engineering. In related news, Calerga has updated its LyME scientific software for Palm OS handheld devices to version 2.9.


3Dlabs (Milpitas, CA; 3dlabs.com) has announced that its two new AGP 8x-based professional graphics accelerators, Wildcat Realizm 100 and Wildcat Realizm 200, have been selected for the HP (Palo Alto, CA; hp.com) Tested and Certified Graphics Program. This selection and certification designates that the Wildcat Realizm 100 and 200 are now certified and available for the HP Workstation xw600 and xw8000. The Wildcat Realizm 100 and 200 are available through HP channel partners worldwide. 3Dlabs is a wholly owned subsidiary of Creative Technology Ltd.

Test and measurement heavyweight Fluke Corp. (Everett, WA; fluke.com) and the Process, Power and Marine division of Intergraph Corp. (Huntsville, AL; ppm.intergraph.com) are introducing a Fluke field calibrator interface with SmartPlant Instrumentation 7.0 software. The new interface enables the software to communicate with the Fluke 743B and 744 Documenting Process Calibrators. Availability is planned for the first quarter 2005.
