BotObjects has released the ProDesk3D, a full-color desktop 3D printer. The printer is designed for both home and business use.
The printer includes an eco-friendly, re-usable cartridge system and seamless software integration, the company says. It uses a proprietary 5-color PLA cartridge system, capable of mixing primary printing colors to generate the colors of choice for the object users wish to print.
The PVA-based Support Material is delivered via a proprietary Dual-Extruder head. The Support Material does not require a finishing set or any chemicals to complete the design.
The printer works out of the box. According to the company, users simply have to plug it into the mains, download the software, insert the cartridges, and then load the 3D design. The company’s Self Calibration Software talks to the ProDesk3D, understanding the composition of the uploaded 3D design; while it auto-sets the printer, it also self calibrates the printer bed.
The ProDesk3D is capable of printing down to 25 microns, and can also print ABS material. In order to ensure consistency of airflow within the enclosed casing, the ProDesk3D includes a tri-fan system to balance airflow across the cubic space of the build platform.
