B9Creations Automates 3D Print Post-Processing

3D printing can automate production and create complex parts faster than many traditional processes, but post-processing of these parts often involves manual labor that cuts into those productivity gains. 3D printer company B9Creations now offers an automation solution that can eliminate that time-consuming work for its own print systems.
The new B9Clean product automates post-processing by providing no-mess part cleaning that is integrated with its own B9 Core Series 3D printer.
“It’s no secret that it’s a messy process to go from a finished print to a final product. We wanted to address this pain point, delivering production-grade parts with post-processing to match. That’s why we developed the B9Clean, so the first time a customer touches a part, it’s printed, clean and dry. Coupled with our B9 Model Cure and B9 Core Series 3D printers, businesses have a simple, fast, automated solution—so they can focus less on process and more on results,” said Shon Anderson, B9Creations CEO.
The B9Clean includes customizable cleaning cycles that the company says will use 75% less cleaning solution than comparable systems.
Parts can be transferred directly from the B9 Core Series 3D printer while still on the build platform, or as loose models on the part tray.
B9Clean provides three speed options, a one-to-10-minute cleaning cycle, and two different fill levels. For smaller builds, the unit holds 1.3 liters of cleaning solution and comes equipped with an extended build table arm. For customers printing larger items, the unit can hold up to 2 liters of isopropyl alcohol.
When the cleaning cycle is finished, the alcohol drains out, which prevents over-soaking. Once the alcohol is drained, the parts are air dried and ready for post-curing in the B9 Model Cure.
The B9 Core DLP printers are used for jewelry, rapid prototyping, manufacturing, industrial design and engineering applications. B9Clean is available for pre-order, and will begin shipping in March 2019.
