Autodesk, Inc. (San Rafael, CA) has been accepted into Rockwell Automation’s(Milwaukee, WI) Encompass Partner program. The partnership enablescustomers of Rockwell Automation who use the Allen-Bradley brand ofproducts to reap significant value from using AutoCAD Electricalsoftware, which is interoperable with Autodesk’s other designapplications.
AutoCAD Electrical automates many tasks for electrical controlsdesigners and provides a path for designers who use AutoCAD to designcontrol systems or generate critical reports, such as a bill ofmaterials, by hand. Because AutoCAD Electrical is part of the AutoCADfamily of products, teams can be immediately productive using itsintuitive, easy-to-use environment. AutoCAD Electrical containslibraries of Rockwell Automation components that allow users to easilyspecify Allen-Bradley product content directly into a design. Thisprocess automatically inserts the correct part number and productinformation into the bill of materials, enabling development teams tospend more time designing and getting products to market faster, reducing design errors and eliminating hours of labor-intensive dataentry. Some customers have already reduced design times by 50 percentand cut errors by as much as 90 percent.
The Encompass program is a product referencing program designed toidentify, qualify, and jointly market third-party manufactured productsthat complement Rockwell Automation products.
